How to cite a blog in MLA with no author?
Using a Blog Post as a Reference
Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name. MLA Blog Post Citation Structure: Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name. “Post Title.” Name of the blog, Publisher (add this information only if it is different from the name of the blog site), date of the blog post’s publication, and URL. The title of the column or section (if applicable).
Nota bene: MLA 9 does not need the date of access for papers published online. (Today is the date the article was discovered and read.) However, some teachers still demand it — confirm with your instructor if your instructor requires it.

What You Will Require
To properly reference a webpage, the following information should be included:
- Author.
- Source citation.
- Container’s title,
- Additional contributions (names and roles),
- Version
- Number,
- Publisher,
- Date of publication,
- The source’s location (such as DOI, URL, or page range).
On page 105 of the Handbook, the Modern Language Association refers to these standards as “fundamental components.” If your teacher has requested that you cite your sources in this style, these elements will serve as the basis for each MLA website citation in your MLA Works Cited list, as well as entries for sources in any other format.
Students may remove any of the items that do not apply. When necessary, more products may be included. In addition to the auxiliary information listed below, the MLA website has a list of other supplemental components.

1. Modifications to the MLA Citation Style for Websites in the Ninth Edition
Previously, students and researchers were not obliged to provide the URL when producing an MLA website citation. However, beginning with MLA 8, it is advised that you include the URL when citing a website unless your teacher specifically advises you differently. Even if web pages and URLs are removed or modified, the information included in the URL can still be used to determine the source.
When including URLs in a reference, the prefixes HTTP:// and HTTPS:// from the website’s address should be deleted (Handbook 195). Additionally, if you’re writing a citation for a digital device, it’s a good idea to make the URL clickable so that readers may instantly reach the source.
If the publisher of the website includes a permalink or DOI (Digital Object Identifier), these are preferred since they are not modifiable in the same way that URLs are. Whether you include a URL, a permalink, or a DOI in your citation, this information should be provided in the location section.
Another modification made in the eighth edition affects how to mention a website in MLA: the date the website was viewed is no longer included. While you may still find this material valuable or your instructor may request it, it is no longer a required component of your citation. If you prefer to include this optional information, you may do so in the following manner:

2. MLA 9: Citing Author-Named Websites
To create an MLA 9 internet citation, you will need the following information:
- The author’s surname
- The article’s or page’s title
- The website’s or page’s title
- The publisher’s name (Note: Only include the name of the publisher when it differs from the name of the website.)

Reverse the sequence of the author’s name, beginning with the final name, followed by a comma, and then the first name, followed by a period. The title of the web page or article is enclosed in quotation marks, followed by a period. The website’s title is italicized and separated by a comma. If the publisher’s name is different from the web site’s name, insert it after the title. The date the page or content was published or posted is immediately following the publisher. Finally, provide a period after the URL, permalink, or DOI.

For a website with an author, the in-text citation is as follows: the author’s last name in parenthesis, followed by a period. You should not provide any further information unless the website contains numbered paragraphs or sections. For the webpage referenced in the above example, the in-text citation would be as follows:

3. In MLA 9, how to reference a webpage with two authors
According to Section 5.7 of the Handbook, insert the authors’ names in the same order as the source for a website with two writers (similar to an APA citation). As with a single author, the first name should be presented in reverse order. However, the second name is written as First Name Last Name and is followed by a period, as seen in the following template:

5. In MLA 9, how to reference a website with three or more writers
When citing a source with three or more authors, the authors’ names should be listed in the same order as the source. The first name is listed backward, followed by a comma and et al. Et al is an acronym for et alia, a gender-neutral Latin word that translates as “and others.”

Occasionally, websites do not mention who wrote the content. When there is no author identified, you may eliminate the author information from the MLA website citation and instead begin with the title (Handbook 108).

Nota bene regarding the websites of organizations/corporations: Often, companies or businesses publish online pages without identifying the author. In these instances, it is reasonable to presume that the publisher also wrote the web page (like the example above). Because the author and publisher are identical in these instances, you may omit the author and just identify the organization/corporation as the publisher (Handbook 119).
Citation of a webpage without an author in the text
The in-text citation for a website without an author begins with quotes and parentheses around the first noun phrase or words in the title, followed by a period. How to properly reference Twitter in MLA 9
Numerous prominent individuals utilize Twitter to communicate fascinating concepts. Fortunately, we have access to the Twitter accounts of today’s greatest thinkers!
To reference a tweet, begin with the account holder’s name in square brackets and their Twitter handle, followed by a period (Handbook 118). Following that, you should provide the whole content of the tweet, including any hashtags, in quotes. The publisher, Twitter, is then italicized, followed by the day, month, and year on which the tweet was posted. Finally, give the tweet’s URL, separated by a period.

The in-text reference should include the author’s name and a brief description of the format (e.g., video, post, image, etc.).
Example:

The fundamental structure of a works-cited reference for social media remains same regardless of the style or social media service used (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). The following are recommendations for creating a works-cited-list entry:
Cite the post’s original author. It might be a single person or a group.
The name is listed in the last name, first name format, followed by a period. If it is an organization, simply write the organization’s name in the manner in which it is typically presented.
If the author’s username is significantly different from his or her given name, insert it in brackets after the user’s given name but before the period.
In quote marks, type the post’s title, body content, or description. It should be concluded by a period.
Italicize the website’s name and separate it with a comma.
Indicate the day, month, and year of publication of the post, separated by a comma.
Indicate the URL with a period. “https://” and “http://” should be omitted.

If there is no text or title in the space normally reserved for the title element, describe the post without using quotation marks. Example:
