Want to learn about the RIG 700? Want to know how to connect rig 700 to Xbox One?
Plantronics has recently introduced a product that retails for $129.99 and is one that gamers who are looking for a wireless gaming headset for both consoles and personal computers may want to take into consideration purchasing.
The RIG 800LX, which retailed for $150 and provided a reliable wireless solution for both the Xbox One and the personal computer, was our favorite headset that they had produced in this category. In some mysterious way, the RIG 700HX manages to bring the price down even further, all while making an effort to provide you with virtually the same level of quality and experience as the RIG 800LX.

You will find a wireless receiver, a micro USB charging cable, a detachable boom mic, and the Plantronics RIG 700HX headset inside the packaging when you first purchase it.
The RIG 700HX is the most recent model, and its construction takes into account many of the benefits offered by previous iterations of the RIG headset. A padded fabric mesh is encased in a plastic headband, which is currently resting on top of your head. The ear cups have a cushion design, which is something that I am pleased to see included in an increasing number of headsets these days. That is to say, the cushions make use of a hybrid skin made of fabric and leatherette. The fabric mesh is the part of the cushion that makes contact with your skin, and the leather that surrounds it contributes to the achievement of a strong acoustic seal.

As is the case with many other RIG headsets, the ear cups in this one can be positioned into one of three different height slots, which adds an interesting new dimension to the process of adjusting the headset. It is possible to remove the ear cups and then reattach them to the headband in any one of the three different size slots.
On the left ear cup of the RIG 700HX is where you’ll find all of the controls for the device. On the bottom of the device is where you’ll find the power button, the game/chat volume balancer, the master volume button, the micro USB charge port, and the mic mute button. In the event that you do not need to talk to other people, the boom mic can be removed. It also has a high degree of flexibility.
Plugging the wireless receiver into either your Xbox One or your personal computer is all that is required to get the RIG 700HX up and running. After that, you need to turn on the headset and then toggle the switch on the back of the receiver to the platform that you are playing on. After that, you are ready to go.

The Plantronics RIG 700HX is an extremely lightweight yet comfortable headset, and that’s the first thing you should know about it. The headset has a grip that is both firm and comfortable. The ear cup cushions have a refreshingly cool feel against the skin while also successfully isolating the wearer from ambient noise. Even though this is not the first Plantronics RIG headset that we have evaluated, the fact that their straightforward design with three different size options works so well and is so comfortable to wear continues to amaze me. Because of the size of the Mellon that rests on top of my neck and shoulders, I was almost positive that I would need to adjust the headset so that it was on the highest possible setting. The “medium” that was provided by default performed admirably.

When I game at home, I wear glasses, so having a headband that can stretch with my head so that it doesn’t pinch my ears or the frames of my glasses is a necessity. The flexible headband was a big help in this regard. Because the ear cushions were made of a combination of fabric and leatherette, I experienced very little to no fatigue while using the headset, and I was able to do so for nearly the entire day without making a single complaint. The Plantronics RIG 700HX was simply outstanding with regard to the comfort it provided.
FEATURES, PERFORMANCE, AND SOME FINAL THOUGHTS AND CONCLUSIONS

When it comes to its features, the Plantronics RIG 700HX keeps things straightforward, providing you with a very easy-to-implement solution for wireless gameplay on the Xbox One. It is compatible with Windows Sonic, the free surround sound software offered by Microsoft for the Xbox One and the PC, right out of the box. If, on the other hand, you already own a valid Dolby Atmos license, the RIG 700HX will allow you to experience surround sound using that particular solution regardless of the platform you choose to use it on.
Having said that, the RIG 700HX provides a sound presentation that is solid, with clear highs, some nice mids, and soft but still present bass. Both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos do an excellent job of assisting with positional audio, which makes it easy for the headset to pick up on sounds like gunfire, bullets, and footsteps. The RIG 700HX was my primary weapon of choice for playing the first-person shooter game Destiny 2. When I wasn’t being pummelling by attacks and explosions, I had a good sense of who was approaching me and where they were coming from. I was able to experience more of the overhead audio effects that both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos provide in Gears of War 5, which resulted in a very satisfying and immersive gaming experience for me.

My voice was transmitted to my teammates in a manner that was unmistakably audible, and the microphone did a fantastic job of canceling out the low- to medium-level background noise that was occurring in my vicinity of me. One feature that particularly stood out to me was how the mic monitoring was already integrated into the headset and began functioning the moment I put it on. I’m sure that even during some of the more hilarious or sweaty matches, I still found myself yelling. On the other hand, for the most part, I was always conscious of the volume of my voice, which made me significantly more tolerable for my friends and allies who were on the other side of the microphone.
It didn’t take very long at all to get the hang of operating the headset’s controls once you got some practice in. In the end, I was able to quickly figure out how to distinguish between the dials for the master volume and the game/chat balance. I was able to differentiate between the two thanks to the raised notch on the game/chat balancer. It did take me a little bit longer to get used to the mic mute button being located where it is, and I’m not sure if this was because I’ve reviewed a large number of different headsets or because the placement is so unusual. On the other hand, it was not so complicated that an insignificant amount of time and effort put in wouldn’t be able to solve the problem.

When all is said and done, purchasing the Plantronics RIG 700HX for $130 is an excellent investment. In terms of the quality of the sound, both the inbound and outbound signals provide you with precisely what you require. Even though it does not use a suspension headband design, a headset that maintains a high level of ease of wear provides a significantly higher level of comfort for the user. Last but not least, you have the type of fabric-leatherette ear cushions that allow you to maintain your concentration on the game without causing fatigue to either your ears or your skin.
If you are looking for a wireless headset that costs $100, is easy to set up, and delivers in terms of both quality and comfort, you may want to consider spending the extra $30 on a reliable product such as the RIG 700HX. You won’t be let down in any way. Check out the Plantronics RIG 700HX wireless headset, which is compatible with both the Xbox One and the PC, as well as the PS4 and the PC.
